Up North

A fun-filled field trip with officemates and their kids.

February 2011. It was my second time to go to Ilocos Norte. This time, we went further below to see Ilocos Sur.

We took the bus, a ten-hour travel turned eight hours, to Ms Mencee's place in Ilocos Norte. We rested some. And took a van to visit the sinking church, lighthouse, and the windmills.
Pretty girl

Let me introduce you to Daryn. She's three. And a little bit miffed by strangers. She does not actually talk to us, but basks in the comfort of Mommy Chu's arms. She, however, is a darling. And talks in English, cartoon-ish way. I quote, "It's so fun Ate, weeee!" After four days in our company, she gradually warmed up. And thus, the Kodak-moments when she let's us carry her up.

At Mencee's house, Daryn is all energy while we zonked out.

Daryn - so cute!

The real tour begins. At the lighthouse.

The gang
Daryn was ecstatically exclaiming, "Windmills! Windmills!"

And Daryn screaming, "Watch out Ate! Watch out!"

Officemates

We stayed overnight in Pagudpud. Daryn, the shy but quirky kid that she is, was having fun with a monkey. She points out, "Look a monkey!"
She was happily munching Stick-o while pointing at a monkey
Brrr. More white beaches. :)

The next day, we explored Kapurpurawan White Rock formation.

Stayed overnight at Miss Mencee's brother's place. Had a few drinks.
Danced by the bonfire like crazy.
Burned mallows.

Tried to knock-out the kid. :))
Mama Mich is not good for your baby
The next day we went ahead to Ilocos Sur, where we fancied seeing a real Bengal Tiger. Wait, was it Bengal, he looked like it anyways.

Then another church

Off to airport, awaiting our flight, Daryn was giddily playing. Hihi. Look, bribery at its finest moments! :D
Precious!
Although the trip was a overload of snooze-times, I loved the time I spent with my officemates. They're a treasure trove of chismis. Kidding! Where to next? Where to? :D
