Singapore the second time around

Out-of-countries are best when you do it with your best girl friends. :P

Karen - asked what the IUPAC name of dopamine is.

We were in Singapore over the weekend. To throw a Bridal Shower for Karen. She's getting hitched a week later!

Aside from that, we did the normal touristy stuff. Much to my chagrin, we were almost always late in getting up and getting dressed. Haha. I did expect it, what with me having been to Singapore last year, I was not all too excited to roam around. I was more excited for the bonding with the girls. Us giggling, and gossiping. Haha

We did go to Universal Studios Singapore on our second full day. The entrance fee was 60 SGD, that's discounted because we used MasterCard.

Got the chance to try authentic Mauritian food. Karen's soon-to-be-in-laws were in town the same weekend we were there. So they graciously invited us over and cooked for us.
Food!

We decided to go shopping the next day. Aizza's request. We got loads of good stuff from H&M. If you purchased more than 100 SGD, ask the cashier for GST refund. Make sure to bring your passport with you.

And Jenny kept calling kids to take a picture with her. It's all too freaky. Imma teach my child of Stranger Danger.

The Bridal Shower was a good ol' dancing in Ku De Ta. It's a bar located at the SkyPark of Marina Bay Sands. It was windy alright. 57 floors up, and I felt the wind. The bar requires a fee of 39 SGD, inclusive of one drink (Stella Artois or wine), for you to party up.

Prior to that, we ate at Jumbo. Chili crabs!! It will remain a favorite for a loooong time. We shared the bill at 28 SGD each.
The Girls
The day thereafter, there was the all-famous Standard Chartered marathon. It was difficult hailing a cab at 4AM. And the throngs of people in queues who were as irate as us did not help any. We finally got a cab at 5AM. We asked our driver if he could pick the rest of us back, but he said he had a booking. So Jenny, Jenna, Karen, and Pauline were not as lucky. They had to walk around for two hours, barefoot, under the Singaporean moon, to look for a cab. At 6AM, they decided to take the MRT instead. We were able to get out of the house at 3PM.

Got to do nothing more than check the museum. Which was fun. :)

I will definitely return to check out Legoland. It's in Malaysia, but it's nearer Singapore.

Ciao!

FYI. The IUPAC name of dopamine is 4-(2-aminoethyl)benzene-1,2-diol.

Cheerio! :)
