Residencia de Riego

Feb 16, 2013
Residencia de Riego
Muzon 2, Alitagtag, Lemery, Batangas

The weekend getaway with the girls. Mama Mich stumbled upon Residencia de Riego in Cash Cash Pinoy, one of the famous sites for vouchers offering discounts and savings. Everybody at the office seem to be hooked to it, except for me.

Mich got the deal at around 4,000 PhP. She booked it early January, and there was supposed to be five (5) of us, but at the last minute, Pau backed out because accordingly, it was her bestfriend's birthday weekend.

Mich to Pau: Acquaintance lang tayo diba? Ano ba naman ang laban nun sa "bestfriend?"

(As told by the ever witty and gorgeous Alot)

How to go there:

Since we were from Shaw, I was not keen on backtracking from Cubao. We waited for a bus bound to Alabang (Php 30). There, we stopped a bit to buy plates and utensils at Star Mall. A bus terminal is just across the mall, so we walked our way there, looking for a bus bound for Lemery. To no avail. All buses were bound for Batangas City. So we stopped at Lipa (Php 99), took a jeepney bound to Lemery (Php 34), alighted at Muzon, and took a tricycle going to the resort (Php 70).

Good thing the resort was not packed. Alot said a lot of negative comments were listed in Travel Factor, stating the resort was almost always overbooked. I did not read any of that. Boo me.

The room was pretty big for four. But they did tell us it can accommodate up to eight people. I would not recommend that. There were only four twin sized beds, and one shower area. They have a mini ref, standard A/C, and two ceiling fans. The door needs to be bolted prior to leaving, I was kinda skeptic about its design. We could've been imprisoned inside for days!!! Nah, I'm just exaggerating the situation. Haha.

The resort hosted three pools. One for kids, and two for adults (at 4.5 and 5 feet). A lot of open cottages, and more overnight cottages. There was also a restaurant which did not serve three of my order they listed in their menu. Hmmm.

We cooked our dinner. Yay for the free use of grilling station at the resort. Albeit, we did not have any oil or sauce to dab the hotdogs and barbeque.

That night, they had a live band crooning over the speakers. I'd rather that, than the sound of videoke and novice people belting out extraneous high notes. (Though it was not absent) Teehee.

The next day, we took a tricycle going to the main road (should've been Php 30 only, but the driver demanded Php 10@, so we paid Php 40). Took a jeep bound for Bolbok. We met Alot's father at Lourdes, and they drove us to the Bus Terminal at the diversion.

That's it. That was my weekend. :)

It's been a while since I posted any travel stories here. :) I will post the pictures next time. Ta! Ta!
