catching lightnings

Name: Kai Golveque
Job Description: Lightning Catcher

Sweet! For the past days, rain was pouring like crazy. And Murphy's Law exists. Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, it does.

Take this for instance. Walking home, no umbrella aboard your uber big bag, water precipitates. You walk faster. Then BAM! You slip! Right in front of so many bystanders.Tough luck, I gather.

I woke up at 3am. Mindful of my roommates snoring off to their respective dreamland, I tiptoe my way to the bathroom. Just as I turned on the lights, a bright flash outside our windows caught my attention. And before my sleep-induced groggy mind could think what that was... BOOM! Thunder. Scary piece of work, thunder is. Car horns went off outside. I saw my roommies peeking behind sleepy eyelids to see what the commotion was about. And I unnecessarily giggled. Typical of me.

After the loo, I tiptoed my way back to my bed. Wrapped myself tight under my covers. Eyes widely shut, I still see light! How?! Another lightning! I started to count. And waited for another bout of sky-angry, car-horn-blasting moment. 1, 2, 3 KABOOM! That was pretty neat! Lightning so near! Angry thunderous lightning. Hmm. Care to catch one?

It doesn't end there. Some time after saving my piece of inspiration in my phone, it hits me. The longer I count in anticipation of its associated thunder, the less menacing lightning seems.
Aww.

Maybe I'm talking metaphorically. Maybe not. But then again. I just realized. Before sending out negative, angry, and deprecating words, COUNT!
Wait.

Then maybe, just maybe. You wouldn't seem so bad.

Kickass - A review

Much raves were heard even before the actual showing of the film. Yeah, yeah it's funny, it's LOL, it's like Super Bad only better. What they didn't tell was that this film, in all its gory and bloodbath, if not awesome, is F*CKEN AWESOME. (Pardon the profanities, but you can get away with a little censored word, jeezezz)

I've watched the film last Satuday April 17, with my roommate Pam, and I can't wait to see it again! For one thing, I can not, for the life of me, stop laughing at brilliant quips and smarter alecs. The storyline was just superb. Each character were developed nicely. I was mostly fond of how Big Daddy and Hit Girl were conceived. And 'balisong' even made it on Hollywood film! Haha! Okay, so whatever.

i sing a song

I sing a song remembering you
Sweet asunder, in tune with woo
Singing mem'ries -- oh! what is sought
Singing touch, singing thoughts
Singing never ever ought.

I sing a song of love and you
Ephemeral tales, forever blue
I sing of trysts, I sing of joy
I sing of tears, I sing of coy
Alas! singing songs of sweet, sweet ploys.

I sing a song remembering you
For a time - ah! time, we were eschew.
In recluse, inebriated
Intoxicated without heed --
While the song, it seemed:
had to go awry
Died with the moon, in a starless, starless sky.

A thought for Mama

Everyday, I look in the mirror and I see
My mother's reflection staring right back at me.
Suffice to say she can't be radically real
I have to survive this sweet, sweet ordeal.

Because half of me,
Half of me owns to her appeal.
And half of me knows
The burden of life's blows.

In memory, we all toast,
To a life lived loved, forever blessed.
Sweet caress,
Here on out rest.

Hurt Locker - A movie review

I was entirely curious of this movie. I mean, what exactly beats Avatar, right? And thanks to officemate Tom, I got hold a copy of this some-2-hours-long Academy Award winner.

War is a drug.

The first few scenes were a blur, not the quality, but my mind was drifting off to somewhere else. Hence, I have to repeat the first ten minutes of the movie. Which led me to too many questions: Wait, did the leader Thompson die? Wait, what does EOD mean? Wait, how can they KILL Thompson?!

It was an intense start, I give you that. And I gather the bravado that the team leader Thompson showed was charmingly real. Guy Pearce's 2-minute cameo role left me gushing. Then comes Will James, a sort-of happy-go-lucky, nada-a-care-in-the-world bomb specialist.

With Sanborn and Eldridge on the team (I crushed on them, too), the EOD squad tackled one mission, each seemingly increasing in suspense, after another. I was just lost at how Eldridge's character was developed. I felt it was a little lacking. I even expected that he come out of it stronger and wiser, not bitter and bruised.

The story developed nicely, I did like it. But I had too many questions while it was on play. I got confused, even, with its ending. But IMDb answered all those questions for me. And I realized, how James' character was not of the domestic type, and how he needed his everyday "adrenaline fix".

I am not entirely sure this should win the Oscars, but I liked it all the same. There were few instances when, I hear myself sniffing, but it kinda bore me on other instances. All the same, I crushed on too many men on this film for me not to not watch it again. Haha!

Enjoy watching it, yall!
